Skin exfoliation with silk cocoons ? (COSRX)

COSRX cocons de soie

No, you aren’t dreaming: I just used the term “skin exfoliation” and “silk cocoon” in the title. None of the two terms mean something other than what you already imagine … But don’t be scared: no worm was hurt during the writing of this blogpost. (;

Skin exfoliation with silk cocoons

Small disclaimer about the “cruelty-free controversy” of this product: Some people say that they have killed and extracted worms from their cocoons, others are struggling to affirm that they were already transformed into butterflies. I like to believe in the second one. ♡

The composition of silk cocoons is very similar to skin proteins. Indeed, silk contains 12 amino acids which are useful for all skin types, of all ages. These cocoons allow therefore a totally natural exfoliation, cleansing, moisturizing and firming effect when you rub it on your face.

Before you wonder how you could possibly rub that little dry and rough shell on your skin, be sure to soak it in hot water for 2 ~ 3 minutes. Once softened, insert your finger in and massage your skin with circular motions.

cosrx-cocons-soie-3 cosrx-cocons-soie-4cosrx-cocons-soie-5

Each cocoon can be used 4 ~ 5 times. You just have to make sure to rinse them properly, dry them and keep them in a hygienic place. Don’t forget to let them soak in boiling water before use to remove any possible bacteria that could fit there.

You should know that skin cells renew every 30 days : This is the time for cells to reach the surface of the skin: So I used these cocoons for 1 whole month, and I found that my skin texture was definitely more smooth and firm.

I have not seen any drastic moisture nor improvement on my sebaceous filaments, but exfoliation is clearly and immediately distinguishable, even more if you gently massage the cocoon on your lips, for example: They come out softer than ever!

In a nutshell, it’s a cool gadget. You can buy a set of 12 silk cocoons from the Korean brand COSRX on Fleurs du Japon for only € 5.90 ~ Give it a try, ok?

COSRX Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion : Underrated benefits of Birch Sap

COSRX Birch sap Lotion

Few weeks ago, I introduced you the benefits of donkey milk through my PongDang Cream review. Today, let’s talk about something just as natural as donkey milk, but so underrated : Birch Sap !

The Korean cosmetics brand COSRX puts this ingredient under the spotlights is its very new product Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion :

Birch Sap benefits

Birch sap is mostly consumed orally thank to its boosting, remineralizing and anti-oxidant effects. This is a very good cure for kidney and liver, but also for skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis.
As for the skin, birch sap is known for its anti-oxidant and anti-aging benefits. It also stimulates cell renewal and protects the skin from stress, inflammation, UV rays, pollution, etc.
In short, a gem of nature that you probably did not suspect (yet) the potential!

TheCOSRX Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap) –okay this is clearly too long– tends to be an universal lotion, for all skin types and needs! It provides hydratation for dry, normal, combination, oily and sensitive skins, and also helps the protection and reconstruction of skin for a smooth and glowing skin.

Ingredients list of CosRX Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap)
Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Betaine, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/, Sodium Acryloyldimethyl, Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Lactate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil

  • The most present ingredient which goes by the name of Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, simply means birch sap. It represens not les than 70% of the composition, not bad !
  • Let’s note the Allantoin (healing and soothing), lemon peel oil (anti bacterial) and tea tree (anti oxidant).

This is, as usual, a very good composition from COSRX !

If you already knew the COSRX products, you won’t be disoriented by the minimalist packaging of this lotion.
The product texture is quite milky, my skin likes to absorb it. Its fragrance is pretty strong though… It smells like “tree”, I guess it is a good thing, right? This is not the most pampering fragrance I’ve been smelling these days, but it absolutely don’t bother me.

When I became aware of all birch sap benefits (also helps my general culture, I can tell!), I immediately suggested to my dad to test it out on his psoriasis. After the first application on his arm, it already itched a lot less! Stay tuned, but for my not-so-sensitive skin, it’s a jewel : This is a perfect moisturizing, soothing and purifying lotion.

NakeUp Face Waterking Cover Cushion : Skincare AND makeup ?

Nakeup Face cushion

Cushion creams and me are in a love story since they got famous in Korea, long before their Western adaptations. Curiosity has since given way to the Need: I absolutely can’t do without it now. I tested a dozen of different products since, but it seems that there are only my Etude House and Holika Holika reviews around. I promise that if you’re interested, I’d make my cushion creams’ top list !

Meanwhile, I want to introduce you one of them that would directly put to my top 3: The Nakeup Face Waterking Cushion Cover!

Nakeup Face is a young Korean cosmetics brand  I learn to discover thanks toTesterKorea‘s “Real Tester” event, one of my favorite online stores. Their prices are so cheap, and every of my orders are so huge that it’s still too shameful to be discussed. haha
The packaging is super sober: Black with a holographic touch, everything I love! I chose the 21 shade because it suits me the best in winter, but sometimes I go 23 when I get some tan.

This Waterking Cushion Cover tends to stand out through many points:

  • A very qualitative composition that combines extracts of propolis (revitalizing), lotus (cleansing and brightening), aloe vera (moisturizing and soothing), and rose water (softening). Just that !
  • Also, instead of using purified water, this cushion is made up of carbonated water to have a real airy finish while good covering.
  • It corrects and unifies even the most troubled skins through a flawless coverage.
  • Its texture does not file and does not oxidize: The complexion stays fresh for 24 hours, even if you do some touch ups. No cakey effect!
  • Its puff is anti-bacterial and limits the emergence and development of microbes.
  • It is an all-in-one product which has a SPF35 / PA ++ sun protection and acts as makeup base, foundation and BB cream.
  • Its texture clings to the skin for an immediate smoothing effect, besides its “brightening”, anti-wrinkle and protective benefits.

A patented formula that promises sooo much ! Let’s see what I’m really thinking about it.

Its texture is just perfect: airy but covering. You don’t really feel it on your skin, but you can see its effects! The application is super nice and you get an even complexion without much effort.

Note that this really smells good to me, and its glowy / dewy finish will please K-beauty junkies. If this is not your case, a powder will matify everything, don’t worry ! My combination to oily skin makes me powder my T-zone for a better stay, which is also very honorable even if I won’t say 24 hours.
Since I always add a little contouring, I never do touch-ups: This is the kind of gesture I have a lot of trouble making, I find it dirty …

My skin tends to blush easily, which is dotted with small acne scars. After the application, I find it smooth, radiant and even !

Get it on TesterKorea for a little less than 17$, love it !

Korean Makeup Remover Products

Cleansing –and more precisely double cleansing– is a big step of the Korean layering. Far from our makeup removers like milk and wipes, sometimes inherited from our moms or simply from our (bad ?) habits, Korean women understand that soft and effective cleansing is the key for a beautiful skin : So we can find a large choice of products and textures that will suit more or less all skin types and the most curious of you… Let’s focus on these Korean makeup removers.

Cleansing oil

Cleansing oil is, according to me, the first product to talk about because it’s really representative of the layering and its efficiency. Lot of people have, even now, the prejudice of “No oily product on my oily skin, gosh !”… So just throw this idea far away from you, and this forever because cleansing oil has nothing to do with production and excess of sebum, which IS responsible of oily skin.

My selection :
My favorite oil isn’t really surprinsing because it’s approved by… Everybody who tested it ! The real rose petals oil by Re:cipe is a pure wonder. Its smell and packaging are marvelous and it works perfectly. It leaves a quite blurry finish in front of my eyes when I massage them with it, but it’s quick, nothing alarming.

Cleansing balms have the same properties as oils, since the texture becomes exactly the same when you warm the products with your hands. The balm melts down and transforms into oil, then becomes white and opaque when in contact with water – this will slowly melt down all the makeup.
I really like balms because they are more compact and easier to carry : I am not afraid  that it drips in my bag as could do an oil bottle ! However, the hygienic side is quite something because we have to put our fingers or the spatula in the pot ; and on this point, I still prefer the pumps !

My selection : demaquillants-coreens-6
I was quite disappointed by the Clean It Zero balm from Banila Co because I found that the result was not as efficient as with my Re:cipe oil. I struggle a bit to remove the Etude House Curl Fix Waterproof Mascara Curl Fix, while the Absolux balm from ÜNT satisfies me completely for the moment !

Both oils and balms may seem rather obvious as cleansing products, but the cream surprised me a lot. We might think that this is a cleansing foam, a mild scurb or even a moisturizer but it isn’t : The creams can also remove the makeup on the most sensitive skins !
By massaging, the cream liquefies and becomes oily. It easily dissolves all the makeup, waterproof or not. Just like the balm, I am not really fond of jars in which we have to put fingertips, but it’s always nice to use and to carry.

demaquillants-coreens-5My selection :
I have tried only one cream, it’s the Gonyak Soft Jelly Cleansing Cream by Holika Holika ! The cream isn’t very smooth because of the small jelly pearls, but it is quite effective and very gentle on the most sensitive skins. I quite like it !

Cleansing waters, milks and wipes

It is well known : K-Beauty is full of wacky products but they also have their classics !

My selection :

The Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water from Innisfree was the subject of one of my first reviews on this blog ! I enjoyed its pump and its effectiveness, but it’s just terrible on the eyes … The one from the Calming line seems much better on that side.

Cleansing milks aren’t very popular in Korea ! We can’t find a lot, even among our favorite brands … So I haven’t had the opportunity to try one, but it’s really not a product that interests me so you don’t have lot of chance to see one on this blog …

demaquillants-coreens-3I’m not very fond of wipes (like, not at all), but those from The Face Shop are SO cool ! They are declined from their most famous lines such as Chia Seed or Tea Tree and they’re really lifesaving when you have to remove makeup in places you didn’t expect to … It’s something for everyone and all skin types and I just quoted you my favorite. (;

Among the tons of more or less useful gadgets we can find on the K-Beauty market, there are a few that are truly worth a try !

demaquillants-coreens-2The mascara remover : This is one of my favorite products ! This is quite a simply mascara brush dipped in makeup remover that you will be able to apply directly on the lashes to deeply remove makeup. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s not to remove properly my mascara and pay for it the next morning. I really like the one from Etude House, and I would like to try VDL’s Water Bomb .

The cleansing Qtips are a trick that everyone knows. But having some ready to use make me feel like a Totally Spies ! Etude House provides their Remover Bars : the stick contains some remover that spreads in the tip when it’s rotated. The Magic Wand from Too Cool For School is basically the same thing. Otherwise, you can find some at Sephora! (;

Did you know all these cleansing products ? Which one did you enjoy the most ?

Avec l’aide de Galadrielle V. pour la traduction – merci !

PONY EFFECT That Girl : The review !

You seemed to enjoy a lot my first blogpost on the Pony Effect That Girl line last time, it makes me so glad ! So I edited it since its official release detailing the various products of the collection… Collection I just received from the brand itself ! I am so proud right now.

To avoid a third edit on this other Pony Effect blogpost, I have decided to inaugurate a real review from scratch ! I tried to make you a slightly different video that I use to film : No front camera, no first impressions, no voiceover … Just a kind of teaser to tempt you to buy it all !  Tell me what you think about it in the commentbox, I count on your sincerity. ♡

My big favs in this Pony Effect That Girl line are the Outfit Lipsticks! As I imagined, they are creamy and pigmented … They are just perfect. The colors have been carefully chosen to perfectly highlight (almost) every skin tones, and I am in LOVE with the pretty nude Noble Brunch, the plum Vibrant Club or the cherry on the cake, the cold and timeless Red that embodies Expensive Dinner.

Get it for about $16 each on the official store.

My second favs (ok I must admit, I like absolutely everything …) are these Illusion Nail Lacquers: In all my nailpolishaddict life, I have rarely seen such opaque polishes in a single layer. I always apply two coats because I’m used to, but the first one is completely opaque, this is awesome! As for the lippies, I believe that the colors are divinely chosen since they are for everyone through a deep blue, a sparkling emerald green or pepsy fuchsia, without forgotting the flakies top coat which will highlight any color. The bottles are stunning, that come with rather thick brushes (I love thick brushes.)

In short : Long lasting, ultra pigmented, easy to apply polishes and- oh yes, their packaging, can we talk about it ?
Get it for $12 on the official store.

It is now time to talk about the palette that drew a lot of attention since its release : the Fever Shadow Palette ! It hadn’t gather only great reviews since many reproached its poor pigmentation … And I think they weren’t that wrong :  In my first post, I noted that I probably wouldn’t have fallen for this palette… And even if I already changed my mind on “very Korean shades” like Ready To Party, Beautiful Liar and Drunk Dial as they are truly hypnotic and easily wearable (but please, let’s not talk about Bad Or Good.), the pigmentation is far from being great. In the video, you can see the “natural” swatches against swatches with a “magic water” (a simple wet brush could do the same thing) below :

It still works well, and the shades aren’t dusty at all.
Get it for about $30 on the official store.

The Luminous Contouring Palette is nothing special, but perfectly embodies the motto “simple but effective“. As I mentioned in the first post (that’s why it’s a bit difficult to speak twice on the same subject … #repeat), it is perfect for very fair skin types because the bronzers are very light, unlike our occidental makeup items. These are cold and brownish tones, nothing to do with some orange and shiny bronzers around here… Everything here is just about chic and simplicity.
Get it on the official store for about $30.

As an extra, I was so surprised to receive a Pony Effect clutch bag with the brand’s holographic storm. First reaction : “kjefhsjhsbfcsjhbfsjh ;__;” I NEED to take it with me everywhere !

In addition to this superb clutcb ag, there was a Pony Effect brush kit… Like, THE KIT Pony herself is using in the teaser (yes Margaux, this is normal.). The color is very unusual, but they are so soft: I love  the face brush, and the blending one. The others have short hair and I was afraid that they would make the shadows very powdery but it was not even the case. In short, I love them but I won’t talk about it too much because they are not on sale then it is a bit of taunting. :c

This line is a real jewel : The quality, the pigmentation, the choice of the shades, their packagings… I loved everything.
In a nutshell, i am in LOVE with Pony Effect, thank you for this first (and hopefully not the last) line !

Japan Touch 2015 : À votre rencontre pour la toute première fois…

The Japan Touch 2015 took place this weekend: Those who live in the area and who haven’t seen should probably live in a cave, because the Japan Touch is a major event about Japanese culture in the center/south of France. Coupled with the Asia Salon since last year, South Korea was in the spotlight this year and I was delighted to be invited at the YouTube Corner !

So this is natural that I proposed to Laura of Beauté de Porcelaine to join me to make this weekend a magical moment, and it hasn’t missed!

The event was held on the 28-29th November, so we have to begin to install everything the night before as we had planned to kick all : Laura and Eric really don’t skimp on resources and gave the best of themselves to make the stand so pretty, it was a real pride to put glitter on your eyes(and on the wall, haha) all the weekend.

So we worked on the decoration from 18h to 21h at -1 °C because all the doors were open ; the fact that I get to drive home without feeling my fingers or my toes really raised the miracle!

I had 5 boxes full to the brim of products to offer you, but we were really afraid of leaving everything there then I have brought them the morning of the convention, and over-stock (thank you to generous partners I will cite lower!)  took us by surprise and we weren’t ready to meet you in good standing at 10H, while some of you are coming directly –and it was so good for us! A big THANKS to Charline, Mathilde, Stéphanie, Caro,Nelly, Margaux, Marjorie, Nathalie, Alex and Christine who have seen us in the stress but stayed to chat, sometimes even the two days!

On remet ça quand ?

Christmas 2015 Wishlist : 100% Korean Cosmetics !

Decidedly no one can escape from the “Christmas Wishlist” craze. Everyone asks us what do we wish for and sometimes we find out that we have absolutely no idea of what we want. Personally… That’s not my case at all hahaha ! I’m an eternal shopaholic unable to save any money…Even if I have to admit that I calmed myself down a little bit on asian cosmetics since I already tons of them all around my house. ( I could write one post a week during two years with all the products that lay down everywhere … *escape to hide myself* )

My life as a “beauty blogger” allows me to be aware of the release of almost all the new products (or not) and because of that… Well, I always have a little memo laying around the corner with a list composed of a billion of futile products to buy.
While making my own wishlist, I realized that it contains exclusively Korean skincare and not a single make-up item. Well that’s not so bad after all. So now let’s get started with my wishlist in details !

wishlist noel cosmétiques coréens asiatiques kbeauty

This brand just poped out on the Internet especially thanks to Glow Recipe ; and I already fell for it even if I still haven’t got a chance to test it out ! I’m a big fan of “moisturizing gels” which are, to me, way lighter and fresher on my combination skin. I already tested out the “Chia Seed Cream” from The Face Shop and “Aqua March” from Holika Holika and both of them completely satisfied me!
This one is a gel composed of bamboo sap and azulene which are distilled in camomilla flowers’ steam. I’m pretty interested by the vitamins pearls that seems to feel great on the skin. Moreover, the packaging is litterally to die for. Did I said ” To die for” ? Well so as the price… Almost $50 …

Don’t ask me why but this brand intrigue me! Their packagings are so minimalist that their products seems very classy and the brand got an award on Soko Glam that’s all I need to add it. Once again we are speaking of a product a little bit on the pricey side since it’s around $30 : Quite pricey for a beauty water! It takes the pledge to purify, exfoliate and gently moisturize ; a sort of multi-task product that would replace your toner, scrub and emulsion. It’s perfect for all skin types; with a PH of 5 that will balance your skin after you rince it off.

If you never heard of this brand (yet) it’s completely normal. It’ a freshly made new brand that we are lucky enough to already be able to find on Peaux D’Anges! I have the “Green Tea Splash Mask” which will be reviewed here very soon but this ” Pressed Serum ” attracts me a lot and has a great packaging. It seems to be a 2 in 1 “cream/serum”. A good excuse to put it in your shopping bag asap.

I’m cheating a little bit here… since I already have it! But as I said earlier; I have a billion of products that wait for me to fully try them out and this is one of them. I put it in my wishlist so you can put it in yours as well hehe ! #Temptation
I’m pretty sure that all of you guys know about this miraculous cleanser stick which is made of real rose petals that fermented for 365 days at precisely 37°C (and it has been named after that). I think that this product is very poetic ; a real jewel. How can we resist?

I think everyone already saw this cleansing balm everywhere and I feel a little bit left out since I didn’t tried it out myself. #sheep. Nah seriously ; till now I was only swearing about my Rose cleansing oil from Re:cipe, but cleansing balms are really nice to use and get off your make-up just as well even if it’s waterproof.
You take a small amount off the balm on your hands , that turns into oil as you warm it a little bit. I choosed the Resveratrol version (what an easy name) that is less well-known compare to the classic one since it is made especially for combination to oily skin types! At the moment, I’m testing out the “Absolux ” balm from UNT which is also a great product ! :3

This is clearly Laura’s fault! I HATE YOU. Look how she sells it to me… I was literally forced to buy it so as one of my friend. An effective review, I can tell. It moisturizes, nourishes and plumps your lips, and also gently exfoliates them during the night – so much that you wake up with a perfect smile. Definitely a big YES for me ! Moreover, I actually already ordered it. Oopsie. <3

I’m really a compulsive buyer since I already own the OST Vitamin C ultra concentrated serum that hasn’t been opened (yet) in my drawer… But I love Klairs and especially the store Wishtrend. The packaging got me a first sight ; but for the moment I’m just keeping an eye on it with all the good reviews I can read on this product. Vitamin C contains antioxydents actives, that fight against wrinkles and is also a great helper to heal your skin. Well, the perfect type of product for my combination and proacne skin type.

I LOVE this brand since the very beginning ! After I fell for it’s real rose petals cleansing oil, I really want to try this lemon cleanser with 98% natural composition… The texture seems so intriguing and I really want to know if it’s worth the hype. **
You can buy it on Peaux D’Anges for €17.90.

Once again, an innovative brand that I really want to introduce on the blog… But due to the price, it will not be for anytime soon! This product is very “high tech” and it also got an award on Soko Glam, so I trust it all.
Almost $30 for 30 cotton pads soaked in naturally fermented red wine that will helps to exfoliate your skin. It’s also a powerfull antioxydent thanks to the resveratrol that it contains.

And finally, a product from the same brand since these little cottons pads caught my eyes out of curiosity… Lemon, Caviar and Vitamin C that are included in this serum that you are supposed to pour on these 3-layers cotton pads. It’s made to tighten pores, fight against spots & scars and brighten your facial complexion. I really want to test that out!

Did you  already know all the brands I spoke about? What is THE product that you want to get for Christmas ?

Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish BB : Worth a try ?

I’m back with a new product to introduce to you, even if the brand might already be familiar to you through my last blogpost about the Rich Moist Soothing line.
Today, I’m going to write about a very promising BB cream, which is already quite popular among beauty blogs since it seems to be amazing.

This BB cream promises to :

  • Adapt to the complexion: 3/5

If there is one thing that completely frustrates me in this cool product is its UNIQUE shade. Why Klairs, WHY ? The pigmentation is still very present, but I believe that their “smart color system” was a risky bet : It is slightly too clear to me. Nothing dramatic, but I have to be objective and that point is not really respected in my opinion, imagining that it won’t fit the lightest and darkest complexions.

  • To adapt to all skin types (dry to oily, through sensitive and acne-prone): 4/5

I only have one skin so it seems a bit tricky to answer for them all, but having read my girls with very dry skin who have enjoyed this, my combination skin liked it too ! Note that this is a non-comedogenic product (which does NOT cause nor stimulate acne) which is absolutely not negligible for me.
Concerning its promise of controlling sebum… it’s not very disappointing but not great though: My T-zone is shiny by the end of the day, but once again it’s not dramatic compared to other general products. It has a dewy finish, so I think it’s still doing its job well that can not be compared with mattifying products.

  • To brighten the complexion: 5/5

We really can’t say it doesn’t: No grayish neutral sub-tone out there, this BB is very brightening. A picture is worth 1000 words.

I enjoyed this BB, but I still am a bit disappointed because I would have liked a small variation of shades for my girls (since it fits me pretty well), and a cushion version, oh yes !! (I will email them, seriously. haha)
The fact that it is non-comedogenic makes me want to advise it to all acne-prone skins. It won’t to cure acne, but you can doll yourself up with this product : This is already a good point, and a very good reason to stop foundations!
Note that it also has anti-wrinkle agents (yes, it doesn’t hurt anyone, even teens. haha) And a good sun protection (SPF40 PA ++).

Still, I find it a bit pricy : I think the brand should review it downwards. This is still a good investment in my opinion, it is far below western luxury complexion products, which however has a quite good ingredients list.

This BB cream really suits all skin types. Ultimately, it is a successful bet for Klairs!

Klairs Rich Moist, my cocooning friend

October just started and the summer warmness seems to be definitively gone. No more fresh and light skincare routines, hello intense moisturizing and nutrition!

Every year, I try to find the golden mean for my combination and troubled skin (dilated pores, small acne, redness, etc.). Last winter I felt for for theSteam Cream from Sea Tree-that I still like-, and this year my partner will go by the pretty name of Dear Klairs.

Klairs ?

Since 2009, Dear Klairs (or just Klairs) remains true to itself. Cruelty-free but not eco-friendly though, It’s a sober yet chic brand with a single flagship line: the « Rich Moist Soothing » one. La mode se démode, concepts and trends change. But according to Klairs, the skin will always need the same thing: Moisturing and soothing.

With essential ingredients for a healthy, balanced skin as hyaluronic acid and beta glucan, the Rich Moist line targets all skin types : Dry, combination, oily, sensitive, or reactive skin. All skin types need hydration and Klairs understood us by creating an ultra smooth line for skins that need to be comforted with the winter coming.

This is a quite small yet well-known Korean brand that has nothing to envy to K-beauty giants. It is produced and redistributed almost exclusively by the firm WISHCOMPANY and their e-shop WISHTREND (coucou Marie-Anne. ♡)

The great «  Rich Moist Soothing » line

At first, I was skeptical when I got to know this line. Not that I thought it was bad for my skin -on the contrary: although Klairs is not organic and eco-friendly, the ingredients are still pretty good-, it’s just that I always aim at oil-controlling and keeping my acne faaaaar from me, especially when I tried to not end up like a frying pan all summer. So « rich » products immediately inspire me a useless nutrition/sebum food.

Set aside my prejudices, I finally fully understood the title : Rich. Moist. MOIST. RICH-MOIST. So, it changes everything right ? As soon as weather is getting cold, I don’t drink a lot of water and my skin is almost yelling at me, constantly dehydrated. Seeing this intense moisturizing line that seemed suitable for all skin types makes me want to give it a try and here’s my review.

Supple Preparation Facial Toner

klairs2 klairs3

Let’s say it : This toner is the smoothest I have ever met. It looks like an essence ! Though it finishes cleaning up my face, purifies and moisturizes at one point we almost forget for the rest of the skincare routine… Toners are known to be drying as hell, even my combination skin if I leave it alone for like 2 minutes.

This is however a real treat. It balances the pH of the skin, which allows the rest of the routine to be more effective.

ingredients list
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Fragrance, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Retinyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Copper Tripeptide-1

In this toner, key ingredients are the amino acid (anti-inflammatory), phyto-oligo (great hydration) and Centella Asiatica for its regenerative and healing properties.

So YES it’s true : when it comes to combination/oily skin, we tend to turn to much more acidic, drying toners. But tugging your skin in winter (oh it’s not winter yet?) is really the worst thing to do: It will turn very sensitive and dry… So I believe that this toner is really suitable for all skin types. Use it as much as you want !

Rich Moist Soothing Serum

Here is another product for all skin types, but significantly more targeted for dry skins which need extra moisture. Remember : Even oily skins need moisture as bodies need water. Including an extra moisturizing serum into your routine will never ever be bad for your skin !

It is a transparent and odorless serum that blends very well into the skin. The finish is quite sticky when you pat it, but not for so long. You may think I’m a weirdo, but I like the stick side. Makes me pat longer. ;p

ingredients list
Water, Sodium hyaluronate, Butylene glycol, Peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, Dimethyl sulfone, Betaine, Natto gum, Disodium edta, Centella asiatica extract, Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, Carbomer, Arginine, Lysine hcl, Proline, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Acetyl methionine, Theanine, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl acetate, Illicium verum(anise) fruit extract, Citrus paradisi(grapefruit) fruit extract, Nelumbium speciosum flower extract, Paeonia suffruticosa root extract, Scutellaria baicalensis root extract, Panthenol, Luffa cylindrica fruit/leaf/stem extract, Beta-glucan, Althaea rosea flower extract, Aloe barbadensis leaf extract, Perfume, Portulaca oleracea extract, Apium graveolens (celery) extract, Brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) leaf extract, Brassica oleracea italica (broccoli) extract, Brassica rapa (turnip) leaf extract, Daucus carota sativa (carrot) root extract, Oryza sativa (rice) bran extract, Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) fruit/leaf/stem extract

Let’s note once again the key moisturizing ingredients, which deeply protect your skin. When I used this serum, I was unconsciously reassured because my skin was actually very well moisturized.

Rich Moist Soothing Cream

klairs6klairs7 klairs8

If I could give one good point to my summer skincare routine, it is the moisturizing gels: Watery and much lighter than creams, I feel that my skin is breathing while having its daily moisture. Creams are often too rich for me, sometimes I’d like to finish my routine with serum / emulsion / eye cream and nothing else..

This small pot promises to seal the natural moisture of the skin as well as the one that you have lavished in the rest of the routine… This cream immediately moisturizes the skin, on the short and the long term.

Keep it by your side from October to March, and your skin will be thankful !

This is a line that clearly targets dry and dehydrated skin, BUT it’s still formulated so that all skin types can enjoy its benefits.

I’ll say it once more : I have combination to oily troubled skin (more I say, the more I find that it’s really not a gift from God…), but my skin has greatly appreciated this line: It’s plumped, moisturized and full of vitality ! It just does not treat blemishes, so I like to alternate between this line and a more acne-focused routine, or even a bit of both depending on the day and mood.

Congratulations, and thank you for that must-have line, Klairs!

Now, I want to get, try and review the cleansing line that seems to target more combination to oily skin… Ambitious !
